Dahlia Cabana Banana

Dahlia ‘Cabana Banana’ is a bright and elegant semi-cactus dahlia that brings a lighter, more relaxed feel to the summer garden. The blooms are formed from long, slightly pointed petals that create an open, flowing shape rather than a tightly structured flower. The colouring is soft and layered, starting with a creamy yellow base that blends into warm peach and gentle blush pink at the petal tips. As the flower opens fully, a golden centre becomes more visible, adding warmth and depth without making the overall effect heavy.

Flowers typically reach 13–18 cm across and are carried on strong, upright stems. Plants grow to around 90–105 cm tall and produce blooms continuously from midsummer through to the first frosts when regularly deadheaded. In the garden, Dahlia ‘Cabana Banana’ works especially well in softer planting schemes where warmth and light colour transitions are needed. It combines beautifully with creams, apricots, pale pinks and soft purples, and adds texture alongside rounder decorative dahlias.

As a cut flower, it is highly useful thanks to its long stems and naturally relaxed form. The shifting tones make it easy to combine with a wide range of flowers in mixed arrangements. For best results, plant tubers in spring in a sunny, well-drained position and provide staking early in the season.
