Description
Dahlia ‘Myama Fubuki’ is a refined fimbriata dahlia prized for its large, softly fringed blooms and luminous garden presence. The fully double flowers open in creamy white tones, often carrying the faintest touch of pale buttery yellow at the centre as the blooms mature, creating a soft warmth within the otherwise crisp colouring. What makes this variety especially distinctive is its finely divided petal structure. As a true fimbriata dahlia, each petal is delicately fringed at the tip, giving the flowers a feathered texture and a lighter, more expressive appearance than traditional decorative forms. The blooms typically reach around 12–15 cm across and feel full and sculptural without ever appearing too dense or heavy.
Plants grow to approximately 90–120 cm in height, forming a strong upright habit with sturdy stems that support the blooms beautifully throughout the season. Flowering begins in midsummer and continues steadily until the first frost, with regular cutting and deadheading encouraging an especially generous display. Early staking is recommended to keep stems upright and well supported as the plant develops. In the garden, Dahlia ‘Myama Fubuki’ acts as both a bright focal point and a softening element within mixed borders. Its pale colouring reflects evening light beautifully and pairs effortlessly with blush pinks, soft apricots, creams, pale yellows, and muted pastel planting schemes. It works particularly well in romantic gardens, elegant white borders, and layered late-summer displays where texture and softness are important.
As a cut flower, this variety is exceptionally reliable. The long, strong stems and excellent vase life make it highly valuable for bouquets and floral arrangements. The fringed blooms add texture and movement without overwhelming surrounding flowers, blending naturally into both soft and more dramatic compositions.
Plant dahlia tubers in spring after the risk of frost has passed, in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny position. Allow enough space for branching growth and provide support early in the season for the best flowering performance. In colder regions, lift and store tubers after the first frost.
