Description
Tulip ‘Daniella’ is a delicate species tulip with a natural, elegant look that feels very close to its wild origins. The flowers are slim and pointed, opening in bright mauve-pink tones with a strong red flame running through each petal. In full sun, the blooms spread into star shapes, while in cooler weather they stay more closed and upright.
This is a compact tulip, reaching around 20–25 cm in height, with neat grey-green foliage that stays low and unobtrusive. It works very well at the front of borders, in rock gardens, and in pots where the fine detail of the flowers can be appreciated up close.
As a Tulipa clusiana type, ‘Daniella’ is stronger and more reliable than many large hybrid tulips when it comes to returning each year. In the right conditions — full sun and well-drained soil, it will settle in and slowly multiply over time.
Flowering in spring, it is especially effective when planted in groups, where the bright colour and changing flower shape create a natural, relaxed effect in the garden.
