Description
Dahlia ‘Diva’ is a richly coloured decorative dahlia with a poised, structured bloom and a strong visual presence in the garden. The flowers are fully double, with neatly arranged petals forming a rounded, classic shape that feels both elegant and assured. The colouring is deep and saturated, moving between wine-red and plum tones, with cooler shades developing toward the centre. In changing light, subtle violet notes can appear within the inner petals, giving the bloom added depth and a more complex finish.
Flowers typically reach 10–15 cm across and are carried on strong, upright stems. Plants grow to around 80–100 cm tall and flower reliably from midsummer until the first frosts, especially when regularly deadheaded. In the garden, Dahlia ‘Diva’ brings structure and depth to planting schemes. It works particularly well alongside softer tones such as blush pink, cream, or pale apricot, where its darker colouring creates contrast, while also fitting naturally into richer schemes with burgundy foliage and deep seasonal companions.
As a cut flower, it is highly dependable, producing long stems and blooms that maintain their shape well in arrangements. Its strong colour makes it useful both as a focal point and as a grounding element within mixed bouquets. For best results, plant tubers in spring in a sunny, well-drained position and provide support early in the season.

- Depth is measurement of space between the soil line and top of bulb or bare root.
- Set the bulbs or bare root in place, pointed side or sprout side upward.
- Cover the bulbs by replacing the soil and water thoroughly.
