Description

Dahlia ‘Pinelands Princess’ is a beautifully textured fimbriata dahlia with soft, luminous colouring and finely fringed petals. The blooms combine blush pink, creamy white and gentle peach tones, creating a warm, blended effect that changes subtly as the flowers mature. Its defining feature is the delicate petal edge. Each petal is finely split at the tip, giving the blooms a feathery, light-catching texture that adds movement and softness compared to more traditional dahlias. Up close, the intricate detail becomes especially noticeable, while from a distance the flowers appear full, elegant and lightly glowing.

Flowers typically measure around 12–15 cm across and are carried on long, upright stems. Plants grow to approximately 80–100 cm in height, forming a sturdy, well-branched habit that flowers continuously from midsummer until the first frosts. In the garden, ‘Pinelands Princess’ blends effortlessly into romantic planting schemes and softer colour palettes. It pairs beautifully with creams, pale yellows, blush tones and muted apricots, while also creating gentle contrast beside deeper dahlias and darker foliage.

Regular cutting or deadheading encourages a steady succession of blooms throughout the season, making this variety especially valuable for cutting gardens and floral use.

As a cut flower, it performs exceptionally well. The clean stems, long vase life and softly fringed petals bring texture and depth to arrangements without overpowering surrounding flowers.
