Description
Dahlia Prince Valiant is a large flowered dinnerplate dahlia that makes a real impact in the garden. It grows tall, has strong stems and produces big blooms in soft pink and lilac shades, each marked with bright pink streaks. Every flower looks slightly different, giving the plant a lively, artistic feel both in the border and in a vase.
The blooms reach about 10 to 15 cm across and are held on long, sturdy stems that are perfect for cutting. The plants usually grow over 1 metre tall and flower from midsummer until the first frost. Prince Valiant works well as a bold centrepiece or mixed with other soft coloured plants in a border.
Gardeners love this variety because it flowers well, the stems are generous and the blooms last a long time when cut. The natural variation in the colours and patterns makes each plant interesting and full of movement.
