Description
Dahlia ‘Waltzing Mathilda’ is a single-flowered dahlia that stands out for its natural movement and vivid colour variation. Each bloom forms a simple ring of softly rounded petals around a bright golden centre, creating an open structure that attracts bees and other pollinators throughout the season. The colour palette shifts continuously between peach, coral, apricot and soft pink, often with deeper rose or orange tones appearing along the petal edges. This variation means every flower opens slightly differently, giving the plant a constantly changing, informal look.
One of its most distinctive features is the dark bronze to deep purple foliage, which intensifies the brightness of the flowers and creates strong visual contrast in borders and mixed plantings. Plants grow to around 75–90 cm tall with a bushy, upright habit and produce a high number of medium-sized blooms from midsummer until the first frost. Instead of producing fewer large flowers, this variety focuses on continuous flowering and steady colour impact throughout the season.
