Description
There’s a quiet elegance to Dahlia ‘Fairway Pilot’ that becomes more noticeable the longer you look at it. The blooms open in soft layers of blush pink, gently lifted by a warm buttery-yellow centre that gives each flower a subtle inner glow. Rather than staying static in colour, the petals shift slightly as they mature, moving through hints of peach and shell pink depending on light and weather. This natural variation keeps the display feeling fresh and prevents the flowers from ever looking uniform.
The blooms reach around 13–15 cm across and sit on long, strong stems that rise cleanly above the foliage. Plants grow to approximately 90–100 cm in height and flower reliably from midsummer through to the first frosts with regular deadheading. In the garden, it settles easily into softer planting schemes where blended tones are preferred over strong contrast. It works especially well alongside whites, lavenders, dusty blues, and deeper rose shades, and also brings a soft glow when placed near darker-flowered dahlias.
As a cut flower, it is particularly dependable, with excellent stem length and blooms that hold their shape well in the vase. Its gentle colouring makes it easy to combine with a wide range of seasonal flowers without overpowering the arrangement. For best results, plant tubers in spring in a sunny, well-drained position and provide support early as growth develops.

- Cover the bulbs by replacing the soil and water thoroughly.
