Description
Dahlia ‘Sweet Sanne’ is a refined decorative dahlia known for its gentle colour transitions and naturally elegant presence in the garden. The fully double blooms are built from neatly layered petals that form a rounded, balanced flower head with a soft, romantic appearance. The colouring evolves throughout the flowering cycle. Blooms typically open in warm apricot and peach shades, gradually softening into blush pink with delicate mauve undertones as they mature. This shifting palette means the plant always displays a mix of tones, giving it a natural depth and variation rather than a uniform look.
Flowers measure approximately 10–12 cm across and are carried on strong, upright stems that rise clearly above the foliage. Plants form a vigorous, well-branched structure and reach around 90–120 cm in height, making them suitable for both borders and cutting beds. From midsummer until the first frost, ‘Sweet Sanne’ produces a continuous flow of blooms. Its productivity improves with regular cutting, ensuring a steady supply of fresh flowers throughout the season.
In the garden, this variety fits seamlessly into softer planting styles. It works particularly well with muted pinks, creams, mauves and naturalistic plantings with ornamental grasses, where its warm tones add depth without overpowering neighbouring plants.
As a cut flower, it is highly reliable. The strong stems, good vase life and gently shifting colours make it especially valuable for relaxed, natural-style arrangements and seasonal bouquets.
