Description
Fritillaria ‘Early Fantasy’ is a beautiful Crown Imperial with soft apricot and peach-pink flowers marked with delicate red veins. The large bell-shaped blooms hang beneath a crown of bright green leaves, creating a bold and unusual look in the spring garden.
This variety flowers earlier than most Crown Imperials, bringing colour and height to the garden from early to mid-spring. Tall stems grow to around 90 cm and make a real statement in borders and mixed bulb plantings.
‘Early Fantasy’ looks lovely planted with tulips, daffodils, and alliums in soft spring shades. The flowers are also rich in nectar and attract bees and other pollinators early in the season.
Like other fritillarias, the bulbs have a natural scent that helps keep away deer, rabbits, squirrels, moles, and rodents.
Once planted, this variety returns year after year with very little care.

Planting Advice
Plant bulbs in autumn in fertile, well-drained soil, around 15 cm deep and 30 cm apart. Always plant the bulbs slightly on their side to stop water collecting in the hollow centre. Leave the foliage to die back naturally after flowering to help feed next year’s bulbs.
