Description
When most of your garden starts to slow down, Oxalis ‘Autumn Pink’ brings a lovely burst of soft colour. This pretty variety has light pink, trumpet-shaped flowers with darker pink streaks on the outside—almost like a candy twist. The fresh green, clover-like leaves make a perfect match. The flowers open up in the sun and curl back into tight spirals in the evening.
This plant blooms from late summer into early winter, bringing colour when other flowers have finished. It’s great for pots, gravel gardens, rockeries, or alpine beds. Just give it a sunny, sheltered spot with soil that drains well, and it will reward you with cheerful blooms during the cooler months.
Oxalis ‘Autumn Pink’ is a half-hardy plant, which means it can come back every year if protected from hard frost. It slowly spreads over time, forming a tidy patch that grows bigger each season. It’s easy to care for and very rewarding.
Since this plant comes from South Africa, it prefers mild winters and can be harmed by long periods of freezing, especially in wet soil.
To protect your bulbs during cold weather:
- Grow them in containers so you can move them indoors in winter.
- Or dig up the bulbs after the leaves die back and store them in a dry, cool place until spring.
The bulbs are small and easy to handle, so protecting them is simple—and they’ll bloom again next year.
We send out Oxalis ‘Autumn Pink’ bulbs in autumn, ready to plant right away. Just place them in a sunny, well-drained spot and enjoy their sweet, candy-like flowers as summer fades.
