Description

Sanguisorba ‘Lilac Squirrel’ is a beautiful perennial that adds color, height and movement to summer gardens. From July to September, its soft lilac-pink flower spikes hang gracefully from tall stems and sway in the breeze. The flowers have a fluffy, bottlebrush-like shape that gives borders a natural, relaxed look.

Growing to around 115 cm tall, this plant forms a neat clump of finely divided, gray-green leaves. It grows best in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Its delicate flowers also attract bees and butterflies, making it a lovely choice for wildlife-friendly gardens.

For a natural look, plant it alongside ornamental grasses, Echinacea or late-flowering Salvia. Cut the old stems back to ground level in late winter or early spring to encourage fresh growth.

At DutchGrown, we supply Sanguisorba ‘Lilac Squirrel’ as a bare root plant, ready for spring planting. Dispatch begins in mid-March.
