Trollius Orange Crest (Globeflower)

Trollius 'Orange Crest' is a cheerful globeflower with bright yellow-orange flowers and a striking tangerine centre. The cup-shaped flowers grow on strong stems above a neat mound of dark green, deeply divided leaves. It brings bright colour to the garden from late spring to early summer.

With its compact size, 'Orange Crest' is a great choice for borders, smaller gardens and pond edges. It is a well-established variety, first trialled at Wisley Gardens in 1929, and is still popular for its reliable flowers and distinctive colour.

For the best results, plant Trollius 'Orange Crest' in a cool spot where the soil stays moist. It is ideal for pond edges, rain gardens and other damp areas. In warmer climates, some afternoon shade can help protect the plant from strong summer heat.

Remove faded flowers to keep the plant looking tidy and encourage more blooms. Once established, 'Orange Crest' forms a strong clump and needs very little care. It will return each year with fresh green foliage and bright flowers.
