Description

Astrantia ‘Cerise Button’ is a beautiful perennial that brings soft colour and delicate detail to the garden for months on end. From late spring through summer, it produces masses of cerise pink and raspberry-coloured flowers that float above fresh green foliage, creating a light and elegant display.

Each flower has the classic Astrantia shape, with a pincushion-like centre surrounded by fine, papery bracts. Up close, the flowers are full of intricate detail, while from a distance they create a gentle wash of colour that blends effortlessly through the border.

With its compact, bushy habit, ‘Cerise Button’ is perfect for planting at the front or middle of borders. It looks equally at home in cottage gardens, wildlife-friendly planting schemes and natural-style gardens, where it mixes beautifully with other perennials.

The flowers are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators and also make excellent cut flowers. They can even be dried, allowing you to enjoy them indoors long after the flowering season has finished.

Grow Astrantia ‘Cerise Button’ in fertile, moisture-retentive, well-drained soil. It performs best in partial shade but will also thrive in full sun if the soil remains evenly moist. Easy to grow and wonderfully reliable, this is a perennial that will reward you with weeks of elegant flowers year after year.

Height: 60-70cm
