Description

Astrantia ‘Pink Button’ is a graceful perennial that adds soft colour and natural charm to the garden throughout summer. Its pale pink flowers rise above neat clumps of fresh green foliage, bringing a light and airy feel to borders without ever looking overpowering.

Each flower has the classic Masterwort shape, with a finely textured pincushion centre surrounded by delicate, papery bracts. Together they create a gentle cloud of soft pink that blends beautifully with other perennials and adds a relaxed, cottage garden feel.

The compact growth makes ‘Pink Button’ ideal for the front or middle of mixed borders, where it complements neighbouring plants rather than competing with them. It works especially well alongside roses, peonies, salvias, nepeta, campanulas, alliums, astilbes, ferns and ornamental grasses.

A favourite with bees and other pollinators, the flowers are also excellent for cutting and dry beautifully, making them just as attractive indoors as they are in the garden.

Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Once established, Astrantia ‘Pink Button’ is easy to grow, long flowering and a dependable addition to cottage gardens, wildlife-friendly borders and natural planting schemes.
